Meet the Elders, Pastors, and Staff here at Liberty!
Scott Hobbs has been in full time ministry for over 24 years and in worship ministry for over 29 years. With a heart to see people encounter the freedom and abundant life through love of the Father, Scott ministers through passionate worship, music, teaching, and the creative arts.
Scott and his wife, Lisa, are both graduates of Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA with a Bachelors of Science in Christian Ministries. They helped plant and serve at Maranatha Christian Fellowship in Wilmington, NC for seven years where Scott served as the youth and worship pastor and Lisa as the children’s ministry and worship arts director. They also founded and directed Higher Place Ministries. Scott served as the Worship Arts Pastor at Eagle’s Nest Fellowship in Milton, DE from 2006-2010. Scott and Lisa cherish their children Olivia, Joseph, and Victoria, who recently married the love of her life, Viktor Pilipovich.
Michelle moved to the Outer Banks during her freshman year of college to work for the summer and ended up never leaving the beach! She finished school locally at College of the Albemarle where she received her Associate's Degree in Fine Arts and then headed the Elizabeth City State University to get her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a concentration in finance. Michelle spent many years in the business arena as a General Manager of two large companies here on the Outer Banks. "I am grateful to use my gifts of administration for the Kingdom."
Michelle met her husband Nathan the summer of 1999 while "working for the summer" and have been married for 18 years. Together they have two wonderful children.
Nick was born and raised in Killeen, TX and moved to Franklin, VA in 1996. At the age of 17, Nick accepted Jesus Christ into his life during a youth rally at the Rock Church of Franklin. A few years later he felt the calling to pursue ministry. He later became a graduate of Brewer Christian College in Jacksonville, FL with a degree in Worship Studies and has been involved in youth and worship ministry for over 20 years.
Nick met his wife, Leigh-Ann, at a youth service in 2000 and later married in 2005. Nick's love for theatre and music mixed with Leigh-Ann's love for dance led to them serving with a performing arts company based out of Virginia Beach called HeartBridge. This then led to them serving with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) where they continued to travel to various countries and within the United States on mission outreaches. They served for a short time at the main YWAM campus (University of the Nations) in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and helped to start the performing arts school that is flourishing today. It is truly their desire to "Know God and to Make Him Known" throughout the world.
Nick likes to refer to this life as an adventure. "It's important to have fun and enjoy the ride!" Nick and Leigh-Ann are blessed to have their 2 beautiful children, (daughter) Cadence and (son) Ezra, along with them on their adventure.
